So you don’t smoke, we have smoked beer for you!
We have been inspired by the smoked beers of Bamberg, Germany and we boldly call this beer, Bomberg! The practise of drying malts, over open flames that burn beechwood, allows the smoke to infuse into the malt which then is carried forward into the beer. What a wonderful way to add character!
We have used judicious, not generous, quantities of smoked malt (Rauch malt) along with our locally produced barley in this beer to add a very prominent, yet subtle smoky character that lingers until the last sip. The beer is deep brown in colour with an extremely rich & malty sweet taste that reminds you of candied bacon! Vegetarians, fear not, there is no bacon in this!
Use Bomberg to cook grilled veggies and meats or drink generous, not judicious, quantities with all things grilled!
